For many years, Naomi Mindelzun has been fascinated by the challenge of how to capture the natural world in paint. In an ongoing cycle of paintings, on paper, canvas and wood; in oil, wax, acrylic and pastel, she searches for common structures within bird wings and boats, in a moonscape, in a metal fragment splintered from an unknown machine. Working with a palette that ranges from the lightest pastels to the darkest oils, she explores forms both real and imagined, seeking in their architecture the mysteries of our seen world.
